My first Styled shoot | Part 01

Natural florals_01

I’ve always dreamt of making a styled shoot where I can get creative and play with stationery and beautiful décor. For one reason or another, I never got around to doing one. But at the end of last year, Maree from Natural Light Photography contacted me with a fantastic idea and I couldn’t say no.

She wanted to do a wedding styled shoot completely captured on film! This means, no photoshop, no retouching and only being able to see the photos once the film roll is developed. Wow! Risky but amazing, I though.

Nowadays with computers and so much technology, we sometimes forget about the essence of things and things so precious as film photography. Doing this shoot like the old days, having fun, experimenting and going to the the basics was my cup of tea…

Besides shooting 100% on film, the concept was very simple: natural colours, vintage styled handwritten stationery and big floral arrangements. We shot everything at Maree’s farm in Riebeek Castell and besides doing the styling I was also the model, hehe. Here are some of the many amazing photos Maree took. I can’t believe how extraordinary they look… the colours, the textures, just incredible.

Hope you love these pics as much as I do… Next week I’ll be posting the second part of the shoot as there’re too many beautiful images to keep them in one post only.

Thank you to the awesome Maree and the other great suppliers that contributed towards this amazing project!
